PIGMENT PRINTING ADVANTAGES,

Let’s delve into the fascinating world of pigment fine art printing and explore its advantages over conventional printing methods, along with some insights about Hahnemuhle fine art papers.

Pigment Fine Art Printing Features,

Inkjet Technology: Pigment prints are created using inkjet technology. Fine droplets of ink are precisely applied to the paper, resulting in high-resolution images.
Pigment-Based Inks: Pigment prints utilise pigment-based inks. These inks offer improved longevity compared to dye-based inks. They are commonly used in professional photographic printers from brands like Epson and Canon.
Surface Textures: Pigment fine art papers come in various surface textures, enhancing the tactile experience. Artists can choose from smooth, textured, or specialty surfaces to suit their creative vision.
Color Brilliance: Pigment prints exhibit bright colours, deep blacks, and excellent contrast. The combination of artist papers and premium inkjet coatings ensures extraordinary print results.
Longevity: Pigment prints have exceptional longevity, often exceeding 100 years. This makes them ideal for fine art applications, special editions, and long-term exhibitions.
Advantages of Pigment Fine Art Printing,
Pigment prints surpass digital C-prints in terms of longevity. While C-prints on Fuji Crystal Archive paper are rated at around 60 years, pigment prints can last well over 100 years, depending on the chosen paper.
Paper Variety: Pigment printing offers a wide range of paper choices. Unlike digital C-prints, which primarily use silver-based paper, pigment fine art papers come in hundreds of varieties. Artists can select the perfect paper for each project.
Environmental Friendliness: Pigment printing is environmentally friendly due to minimal waste, reduced water usage in post-processing, and a lighter setup.

COLOUR MANAGEMENT
Color management is the process of ensuring accurate and consistent colours throughout the entire printing workflow, from digital file to final print. In the realm of fine art, where every hue and shade carries meaning and emotion, precise color reproduction is essential for capturing the true beauty and intention of the artwork.
Preserving the Artists Vision
Fine art printing is about more than just transferring an image onto paper; its about preserving the artists vision and expression. Whether its a vibrant landscape painting or a delicate watercolour illustration, the colours chosen by the artist convey meaning, mood, and emotion. Without proper color management, these nuances can be lost in translation, resulting in prints that fail to capture the essence of the original artwork.

Consistency Across Media and Platforms,
In todays digital age, fine art can be experienced across a variety of media and platforms, from gallery walls to online portfolios. To ensure a cohesive and consistent experience for viewers, its essential that the colours of the artwork remain true across all mediums. Proper color management ensures that prints accurately reflect the colours of the digital file, allowing artists to maintain their artistic integrity regardless of where their work is displayed.
Quality and Longevity,
Beyond aesthetics, color management also plays a critical role in the quality and longevity of fine art prints. By calibrating printers, monitors, and other devices to industry standards such as ICC profiles, color gamuts, and color spaces, printers can achieve optimal color accuracy and consistency. This not only enhances the visual impact of the prints but also ensures their durability and longevity over time.

Hahnemuhle certificate of authenticity,

To meet the artists need to declare the number of copies produced, we can issue a certificate of authenticity on Hahnemuhle parchment paper upon request. In a way, this is a declaration of the paper used and the museum quality of the print, while the artist declares the serial number and the number of copies printed (if necessary, the content of the document can be modified to suit the artists work). A hologram with the original and unique serial number is placed on the certificate and on the back of the painting to confirm its authenticity.

White Border,

Optionally, you can leave a white border between 1-15 cm in your prints. You can make your image more impressive and increase the emphasis.

HAHNEMUHLE Protective Spray,

Hahnemuhle Protective Spray protects digital fine art prints from external influences. The aerosol spray forms a thin film on the paper without changing the paper structure. It corrects the colors of pigment and dye ink and prevents the intensity and high brightness of the colors from fading permanently. The coating increases the abrasion resistance of Fine Art papers, so the risk of fingerprint marks and scratches is reduced. The formulation dries fast. Yellowing of the print due to spray is not possible.

* No yellowing

* Easy to implement

* Continuous intensification and high gloss
